In Unit 1, students will study gospel identity through a systematic survey of Genesis 1. First they will explore 10 characteristics that define Creator God giving evidence for why God & His Word matter for their lives. Next students will explore 8 characteristics of created humanity in order to grasp the beauty of God's plan and purpose for humanity as a whole. While this Unit does not specifically touch on the topics of sexuality, it gives basis to the "WHY?" behind making healthy & holy choices that honor God, others, and themselves.
Each subsequent Unit opens with a review of Unit 1 (as well as previous units) to continue to build a framework for healthy & holy sexuality.

Using Genesis 1:27 as a framework ("...so God made man in His image, in the the image of God He made them, male and female He created them."), Unit 2 will emphasize person hood & identity according to Creator God. Students will work through what it means to be created in God's image as emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual beings, made to reflect God for His Glory and our good. Students will also be instructed on what it means to be created physically as either male or female (puberty and the reproductive system are introduced here) and how those distinctions help to accomplish Creator God's plan and purpose for us as humanity and within our identity. A final emphasis and reminder of God's gospel plan to redeem that which He created will be included.

Unit 3 has 2 distinct sections - both of which focus on God's plan for relationship between male & female (subsequently resulting in relationships of family and friends) as outlined in Genesis 1 & 2. The first section introduces the topic of relationship within the ordered framework of Genesis 2:24 (Leave, Take Hold, One Flesh) as well as a study on marriage & sex within humanity's purpose in order to provide procreation, intimacy and pleasure. The division between the two sections is a brief study of the Fall of Man as outlined in Genesis 3 showing how sin separates us from God, each other, & ourselves. The back half of Unit 3 explores the distortions on God's good plan & purpose highlighting topics such as sexual abuse, premarital sex, gender identity, pornography, & other screen use for sexuality, with an emphasis on how sin (sexual sin in particular) affects every part of our identity - physically, socially, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. While this unit carries some heavy topics, it ends (as every unit ends) with a hopeful reminder of God's grace and mercy shown through His promise of Jesus revealed in the same chapter of Genesis where sin is first exposed.
-
Unit 4 of the Remember Whose You Are program culminates in students grasping that WHO we are determines HOW we are (identity determines behavior). After establishing human sexuality rooted in gospel identity, students will explore what this practically looks like in their chosen relationships. Students will be given tools such as "G.R.A.Y Matters" which encourages thoughtful boundary setting, as well as #relationshipgoals to motivate & inspire them to set holy and healthy identity & relationship goals in order to honor God as well as others & themselves as image-bearers.
